Hi Raegan! Can you introduce yourself?

Hiii I’m RAEGAN, I’m a 21 year old singer- songwriter and producer.

Who would you say influences your music the most?

I’d have to say me, my music is my brain in sonic form and I’m always just expressing my inner thoughts and emotions. I’m very inspired by cinematic and theatrical sounds.

Besides writing and singing, you also produce your own music. How does that change the end result? How does the power of having more ownership affect your music?

I am able to express what’s in my mind clearly. I put my feelings into the beat and create a world for each of my songs and producing is my way of doing that.

Your latest song COINS came out last month. How has the feedback been so far?

It’s been great!!! Everyone seems to love that song and music video!

COINS starts out with a catchy beat, which you recorded with actual coins. How was rest of the journey of producing the song, and what was the inspiration behind the lyrics?

I made this song in high school and I just randomly wanted to make a song out of coins. After creating the beat, I freestyles melodies / flows onto the song and wrote the lyrics over time. I was writing as a manifestation, at the time I hadn’t even released any music yet but I was coming from a point of view of success as if “my dreams came true.” I also addressed fake and plastic relationships and how I saw they’d play out in the future.

Can you give us an insider look to how music video for Coins was shot? What was the filming process like?

The music video for “COINS” was a great collaborative experience with Ama Buzo, the director. The filming process was so fun and iconic. It was a 3 day process, from days underwater to studios to museums. Everything we had intended to create, came to life in front of our eyes.

You’ve been performing live in venues around NYC recently, what was your personal favorite performance?

My favorite performance is always the most recent one. I keep growing and elevating as an artist every day.

Considering how much social media helped you to get your name out there, an online fan base is great but is not the same as seeing people live who show up to your concerts. How would you compare these two different aspects?

Nothing compares to people coming to a show. I love all of my online fans so much and I know they’d come out to see me if they could but a lot of them are not in NYC. But I am going on tour in March 2024 so I will finally get to see and experience my fan base more!!!

Do you have a dream artist to collaborate on a song with?

I feel like this answer always changes a bit with what I’m listening to but right now I’d have to say SZA.

Any new projects you’ve been working on? Can we get some hints?

Yes!!!! My EP F*CK RAEGAN is to be expected in the new year!! And you can come see me as I open up for Auto Heart on a U.S tour in March!!!
